Last night was awesome. I had dinner with my grandparents at this great little Chinese restaurant where they've been going for 17 years (the waitress actually remembers my great-grandmother, who died a number of years back). Afterwards, we hung out and talked. My grandmother and I proposed to my grandfather that he write down all of this really fascinating life stories and that I can write them into essay/book format. That'd be so cool. My grandmother also has a lot of really neat stories, about Austria and the war and her family. I love the fact that I come from such interesting people.

I thought last night about my family - my father who went to Europe when he was 15, my mother who left Wisconsin at 18 and went to Florida, my grandmother who survived WWII in Austria and then came to the United States, my grandfather who came from Cuba to Tennessee at the age of 18 knowing almost no English, my other grandmother who traveled the world as an army nurse... I love the fact that these people, of whom I am so extremely proud, are a part of my tapestry. It's the reason that, while I'm nervous about moving to San Francisco, I'm not afraid. Not really. They did it, and so can I.

Lots of things to do today. I got up early to do some writing, and now I'm off to go to the bank, sell some CDs/DVDs to the used CD place in Georgetown, etc. Later tonight I'm going out with Victoria. It should be an awesome time!
